Members of Congress focus on the issues their constituents consider important. ASA, CSSA and SSSA want to show Congress that there are literally thousands of researchers who think science funding is a vitally important issue to our nations’ economy and global competitiveness. However, we can only do that if our members are the ones doing the talking. These grassroots efforts, where constituent scientists personally reach out to their members of Congress, are universally believed to be the most effect way to engage in policy or legislative issues.
